FAQs

How long have you been creating tie-dye?

- Started making tie-dyes sometime after seeing my first Dead shows in 92'

You got to see Jerry?

- Yup... Grateful to have caught five shows.

What kind of dyes do you use?

- I only use Procion Fiber Reactive Dyes which are an industry standard. They yield the best color and last the longest should you treat your dyes well

How long do your original dyes last?

- Depends, so many variables. Could last ten plus years if it's not the only shirt you own and treat it with some decency. Then again, you could put a half life on it if you wear it to every damn show you cut a rug or blow a cherry out your bowl. Generally, these dyes can last several years.

Do you do custom designs?

- I can, but it depends on how busy I am, or how intricate of a design you're thinkin' but it will be limited to how many custom orders I can accept. Prices will vary.

Why are the "Jer' Your Face" original dyes so pricey?

- How much do you get paid for a weeks worth of work? Haha... Those type of intricate designs take me anywhere from 40 - 60 hours to create from the time I lay the shirt out on the table to the time I wash and dry them. You can add another 10 - 15 hours if I have to bring a design from a drawing concept. It's a task of Unlimited Devotion.

Why does it take 10- 15 weeks for one of the original "Jer' Your Face" dyes?

- Life shows up... I'm a single father, not my only gig, and it's hard to sit down and just work on one shirt for 60 hours straight anyway. It's a creative process, I need to feel creative energy, and sometimes I'm just not feeling it. I don't want any negative energy going into your custom made tie-dye. So I work on a little at a time until it's done. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face and every one else who sees you wear it or sees it on your wall.

I don't get the idea of a tie-dye "printed variation"...?

- In the world of tie-dye, these images are all one of a kind. Meaning, it's literally impossible to make any two dyes exactly the same. It's just the nature of how liquid flows. So, for the intricate designs, ones that are really special, that take a lot of time and might be out of someones budget it's a great way to still share the image. I mean, why should only one or a few get to wear or hang up the designs. It's about sharing and sharing is caring.

How come you only have one design on your site?

- More to come! I'm a one man show and had to get myself a platform to market my work before I can refocus on what I do best, creating the art.

Do you have a storefront?

- No storefront, I work out of my house.

Shakedown?

- Hard for me to do an entire tour these days while I'm raising my kiddos, school, and stuff. I may be at a few shows from time to time. Stay connected with me on the social networks and I'll let you know where shall we go.
